The last week has been pure madness. Your going home, pack up your stuff--psych we need you to stay another month. It's not the issue of staying--it's how it was done. Waiting until four days before I was suppose to be flying to Kuwait to realize you have no replacement for me is quite frankly unacceptable. I agreed to stay, but honestly did I have an option? I could convince myself that yes, the Army does care about me and would have let me go home had I objected, but that's been proven wrong, time and time again. So, I keep my head up and remember my life could always be worse.
Soon--even if it is later than anticipated--I'll be home, drinking a beer and 'livin' my life'. That's all I can ask for.
